Getting started
Interview Companion is a real-time AI assistant for technical interviews. It runs as a native desktop app (macOS and Windows) that captures both your microphone and the candidate's audio, transcribes everything live, and surfaces AI-generated insights together with a structured scorecard.
1. Create an account
Sign up on the web dashboard. You can also sign in if you already have an account. The desktop app uses the same account.
2. Install the desktop app
Head to the download page and grab the build for your platform:
- macOS:
.dmg(notarized; works on macOS 14 Sonoma or newer) - Windows:
.msi(works on Windows 10/11 64-bit)
3. Sign in from the app
Launch the app. You'll see a "Sign in" screen. Clicking it opens the system browser to the dashboard. Once you've signed in there, the browser hands control back to the app and you're ready to record.
4. Start an interview
From the web dashboard, create a new interview (assign candidate, role, and optional profile). When ready, switch to the desktop app and press Start recording. The transcript and AI insights stream in as the candidate speaks. When the interview ends, press End & generate scorecard — you get a structured evaluation in seconds.
